Conference Details

Thanks to the generous support of Third World Quarterly's Global South Colloquium Fund, there will be no registration fee associated with Womandla! Feminism and Social Movements in the Global South.

This means that attendance will be free for all delegates. In addition, the conference will be fully catered (refreshments, lunch, and dinner) for delegates.

As of 24 March 2020, conference organisers Kate Law and Ana Stevenson have had to make the very difficult decision of postponing this conference due to the global situation relating to Coronavirus (COVID–19). While some other conferences and academic events have moved online, we know that not everyone has the same access to the internet and so we do not see this as a feasible alternative at this stage.

More details will be available about the rescheduling of the conference once the global situation relating to Coronavirus (COVID–19) has stabilised, international borders and freedom of movement have resumed normality, and the South African government has resumed normal visa processes for foreign nationals.

All previously notified recipients of travel bursaries will continue to be supported once the conference is rescheduled, regardless of whether their status as PhD candidate or early career researcher has changed by that point in time.

Please follow the conference on Twitter @Womandla2020, or check the website regularly, to keep up to date with all these details.
